Mobilized from the 51st Tula Airborne Regiment, attached to the Wagner PMC, break their arms and legs on leave to avoid returning to the front under Wagner's command, Russian military blogger and expert Andrei Morozov (“Fighting Cat Murz”) reports on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the mobilized fighters are deliberately injuring themselves because of threats they receive from Wagnerites while working to evacuate their wounded: “We'll shoot you if you don't retrieve our guy.”
“Some have shot themselves in the feet too. Soldiers don't want to be shot in the back by ‘friendly’ troops for something they can't control,” Morozov writes.
He also claims that all humanitarian aid sent to the 51st Airborne Regiment ends up in the hands of Wagner mercs. According to the expert, Wagner fighters feel untouchable, and Colonel General Mikhail Teplinsky, commander of the Airborne Troops, wanted to stop it but was removed from his post. At the time, pro-Russian military correspondents reported Teplinsky having a conflict with Army Commander Valery Gerasimov. According to war correspondent Alexander Sladkov, Teplinsky refused to use the airborne troops as assault troops.
Earlier, the Telegram channel GREY ZONE, affiliated with the Wagner PMC, published another video of a convict being executed with a sledgehammer. The footage allegedly shows Crimean native Dmitry Yakushchenko, born in 1978, who was recruited to the PMC from a prison in Crimea and surrendered to Ukrainian captivity after four days of combat.
